Dan piloting the balloon

Flight Information

Launching: We launch the balloon at sunrise or 2 hours before sunset, weather permitting. It takes about 15 minutes to set up and launch. The ride itself lasts approximately an hour depending on the wind conditions and landing spots available.

Landing: After about an hour, your pilot will find a safe place to land. Depending on the wind conditions and landing spots available it can be just under or just over an hour.

Champagne Celebration: After the flight we have a traditional champagne (or sparkling juice) toast for the passengers, pilot, crew and landowners. This is a tradition started by the French to appease the landowners. The entire event usually takes about 3 hours.

How to Dress in Warm Weather: Wear jeans or pants, tennis shoes or hiking boots and bring a jacket or long sleeved shirt as the bugs may get bad especially at landing.

How to Dress in Cold Weather: Dress for the temperature. Dressing in layers is always best. A winter coat, snow pants, boots, warm gloves, hat, and hand or foot warmers are recommended.

Weather: High pressure is ideal for flying. Winds need to be less than 10mph with no storm activity to fly.

Risks: Although the pilot and crew will take every precaution to provide equipment and safety preparations for each flight, it is impossible for the pilot to guarantee absolute safety. You will sign a waver that you understand that there are potential risks to hot air ballooning. You will also accept the responsibility to verify with your physician that you have no physical or psychological problems that would prohibit flying in a balloon.
